East Taiwan’s first Starbucks Drive-Thru: A standalone art-inspired café that coffee lovers must visit

The single-story standalone store is strategically located on Section 2, Zhonghua Road, Taitung City — a major thoroughfare for entering and exiting the southern part of Taitung City and traveling to and from southern Taiwan’s western counties and cities. With promising traffic flow and prospects for Taitung’s tourism industry, Starbucks hopes the “Taitung Zhonghua Store” will become a great spot for local residents to enjoy coffee moments, offering a more convenient and diverse Starbucks experience.

The exterior of the “Taitung Zhonghua Store” features a welcoming arch made of a nearly 23-meter-wide and 6-meter-high metal wood-grain grille, alongside a 12-meter-tall vertical signboard visible from as far as 500 meters away.

Upon entering, the interior walls are primarily designed with forest brown-black and wool-white as the main visual colors, complemented by cedar wood veneers and large floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a warm and natural ambiance.

On the wall next to the pastry counter, an artistic feature combines hand-painted goddess imagery with metal laser-cut fish-scale patterned iron panels. Under the lighting effect, the shadows of the fish scales cast through the iron plates are projected onto the goddess figure, making the Starbucks goddess shine with a unique and mysterious aura — this is also the most highlight-worthy corner of the entire store.
