New way to travel in Japan～Go camping at the foot of Mount Fuji

The Lanew Group and the Shizuoka Prefecture Tourism Association have jointly launched an exclusive Japanese tour program, the “Diamond Fuji & Lake Tanuki Hiking & Camping 5-Day Tour,” allowing participants to camp by Lake Tanuki and witness the beautiful sunrise with Mount Fuji in the backdrop. This camping site, previously only available to Japanese applicants, is now open to Taiwanese travelers. Trips are scheduled for three batches on May 24, May 25, and May 26, with 80 people per batch.

In addition to one night of camping, the tour also exclusively includes a “Fuji Lava Cave Adventure,” where travelers can explore volcanic rock caves of various sizes, learn about unique geological features, and observe wild bats that nest here. Participants can also bike around Lake Tanuki. Moreover, a special “Lake Tanuki Wetland and Jinba Falls Hike” is planned, taking you through the only wetland area on the western side of Mount Fuji to discover unique flora and fauna. The hike continues along wooden boardwalks into the Tokai Nature Trail, passing through forests and local villages before reaching Jinba Falls.

The itinerary also includes visits to the spiritual center of Mount Fuji worship, the “Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine,” Japan’s largest “Ueno Park,” as well as Tokyo’s oldest temple, “Senso-ji Temple,” and “Meiji Jingu Shrine,” which is equivalent in size to 54 Tokyo Domes... among other attractions.

The Lanew Group has organized national hiking events since 2003 and launched international hiking tours in 2006, bringing 1,000 people to various locations in Japan each year. In 2012, for the first time, the group introduced a combined camping, hiking, and travel experience. Organizers will provide tents and sleeping mats, while participants need to bring their own sleeping bags, inflatable pillows, toiletries, and other personal gear. The cost per person is NT$38,900.
