Located near Twin Lakes, the scenic restaurant Ngiring Ngewedang is a must-pass spot on the way to Lovina and new Graga, and many travelers stop here for a meal. Situated at an altitude of about 1,500 meters in the mountains, the cool and comfortable average annual temperature of 18°C, combined with breathtaking mountain views – where you can gaze at both Twin Lakes and emerald-green terraced fields – makes it easy for visitors to lose track of time.

The restaurant primarily serves traditional Indonesian dishes. Its signature dish, “Red Braised Pork or Chicken” (Babi or Ayam Kecap), involves simmering shredded radish and strips of cloves or cinnamon together with chicken or pork in sweet soy sauce until the meat becomes tender. The taste is actually quite similar to the popular red braised pork in Taiwan and pairs wonderfully with rice. “Spiced Curry Chicken or Fish” (Kare Ayam or Ikan) is made by stir-frying a variety of spices such as cloves, chili, cinnamon, red ginger, lemongrass, macadamia nuts, kaffir lime leaves, and coriander, then adding pre-fried meat and curry powder, and finally cooking with coconut milk. The rich, aromatic curry broth, balanced with a hint of coconut sweetness, is incredibly appetizing.

Besides meals, the shop also offers authentic traditional handmade coffee. The coffee beans are grown right at the café, carefully selected, roasted, and brewed. Every cup offers a unique blend of floral, fruity, nutty, and earthy notes. In fact, the name “Ngiring Ngewedang” means “Please come have a cup of coffee,” so be sure to order a coffee before continuing your journey.
