Visa applications for India will only be accepted online starting March 26

The India-Taipei Association announces: Starting March 26, 2012, all types of visas will only accept online-filled/printed visa application forms. Handwritten visa forms submitted by applicants will no longer be accepted.

 Applicants wishing to apply for a visa may visit the official website of the India-Taipei Association and follow the step-by-step Chinese translation instructions in the online visa application guide to fill out the Indian visa application form (which must be filled in English only). After completing the form, print it out; only then is the online application process considered complete. All the above steps must be completed by midnight (24:00) the day before the application date (except for same-day processing).Otherwise, the system will not accept the application. Next, affix one 2T x 2T (5 cm x 5 cm) color recent photo, and submit it along with the original passport, photocopies of the front and back of your ID card, and the visa fee of NT$1,300 (this is the fee for a 6-month multiple-entry tourist visa for individuals) to the India-Taipei Association.

The visa acceptance hours are 9:30–12:00 on regular weekdays, and the visa can be collected the next day from 3:30–5:15 pm; if you wish to collect it the same afternoon, an additional handling fee of NT$500 will apply, and collecting it the same morning will incur an additional NT$800. The validity period of the visa is calculated from the date the application is successfully approved, not from the entry date. For example: if the application is approved on January 1, 2012, the visa will be valid from January 1, 2012, to June 30, 2012.

Additionally, travelers applying for multiple-entry tourist visas are reminded that there must be a gap of more than two months between exiting and re-entering during the visa’s validity period. Those planning to use a multiple-entry tourist visa to visit India and then travel to neighboring countries such as Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, and re-enter India within two months, must inform the counter when applying and provide supporting documents (such as flight tickets, hotel reservations, or a personal itinerary), and apply for a two- or three-entry tourist visa.
