Norway’s fjords are among the most spectacular natural wonders in the world. Their formation began with the melting and shifting of glaciers tens of thousands of years ago, which over time cut deep into the valleys (a process known as overdeepening), creating unique U-shaped valleys. As sea levels rose and the land sank, seawater flowed into these valleys, forming the fjords. The breathtaking beauty of the towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic landscapes surrounding the fjords is what captivates visitors the most.
