The Central Taiwan coastal arts and culture feast “Jia’anpu Arts Come Alive” kicks off now

Recently, various local guided tours and cultural activities have been launched in the coastal areas of Taichung City. Themed around Dajia, Da’an, and Waipu, the “2012 Jia’anpu Arts Come Alive” will be held from now until September 27 at Zhongzheng Memorial Hall in Dajia District, Waipu Elementary School in Waipu District, and other locations in Da’an District. There will be children’s plays, parent-child art workshops, DIY activities, as well as special features from the National Museum of Natural Science and the Youth Green Cultural and Ecological House to add more variety.

This event invites the National Museum of Natural Science to showcase the “Future Technology Fantasy Touring Exhibition,” the Kwang-Tai Education Foundation to present the “Song Dynasty Cultural Relics Education Exhibition,” and various district libraries to offer exquisite pop-up books. On September 16 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at a location in Da’an District, there will also be activities such as “Creative Culture Workshops,” “DIY Fun Sessions,” and “Handicraft DIY.”

In addition, on September 15 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Zhongzheng Memorial Hall in Dajia District, the “Only Puppets Children’s Theater Troupe” will perform “The Boy Who Was Always Late & The Anti-Epidemic Task Force Mobilization”; on September 16 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Citende Temple Square in Rinan, Dajia District, the “Ming Hwa Yuan Drama Troupe” will stage “Immortal Welcoming Ceremony & The Battle of Zhou Gong vs. Peach Blossom Girl”; on September 21 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Waipu Elementary School in Waipu District, the “Taichung Sheng Wuzhou Puppet Troupe” will perform “The Six Feathers’ Free Journey—That Year, the Girl We Saved Together!”; on September 23 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at a location in Da’an District, the “Da’an Coastal Arts Troupe” will perform “The Coffee’s Ballad,” suitable for all ages.
