The North Coast Scenic Area Administration is recruiting "star scouts" to discover the top ten hidden gems of the North Coast.

This year, the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration has specially organized an online event to search for hidden scenic spots in the North Coast and around Guanyinshan, inviting the public to become “scenic spot scouts,” and together discover and share beautiful, simply happy, and uniquely attractive hidden spots. The submission period runs from now until November 10, 2012.

The main goal of the event is to encourage travel scouts to explore within the North Coast Scenic Area—including the five major regions of Shipi District, Shimen District, Jinshan District, Wanli District, and Guanyinshan—to find those extraordinary elements within the ordinary, and the sense of happiness within simplicity, and then share them with more people to experience and feel, re-presenting the emotional appeal of traveling in the North Coast and around Guanyinshan.

For the first phase of the submission event, the top 20 participants who upload hidden scenic spots and pass the review will receive the Early Bird Award: a set of handmade soap by Ah Yuan. All participants who submit hidden scenic spots can join a computerized random draw, which includes one grand prize of an iPad, as well as joyful sharing prizes such as tickets to the Chu-Ming Art Museum. The event will have a review panel established by the North Coast Scenic Area Administration, selecting the top 10 best hidden scenic spots in the North Coast, with 10 winners in total who will receive convenience store gift vouchers and tickets to the Yehliu Ocean World.
