After China Airlines joined the SkyTeam Alliance last year, it also began selling SkyTeam’s round-the-world tickets in the Taiwanese market. Now marking its one-year anniversary, nearly 100 such tickets have been sold. Prices vary depending on the total mileage, ranging from NT$110,000 to over NT$170,000. Compared to purchasing individual tickets, round-the-world tickets can save travelers nearly 25% in costs. Passengers who purchased round-the-world tickets ranged in age from 19 to 70 years old, with travel durations mostly spanning 1 to 2 months.

19-year-old traveler Mr. Huang embarked on his first trip around the world because his father wanted to travel and visit clients globally. The father-and-son duo visited the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, France, and mainland China in August this year, with a ticket cost of about NT$130,000 and a trip duration of approximately one month. Mr. Huang said that traveling with his father broadened his horizons and revealed many things worth exploring.
Traveler Ms. Xue also used her 60-day summer vacation to visit Kenya, Madagascar, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Russia, Norway, France, the United States, and Mexico. Ms. Xue noted that many of these destinations are not easy to reach and are quite appealing. For example, the streets of Madagascar actually resemble those in Taiwan and are not as jungle-filled as portrayed in movies.

Round-the-world tickets are divided into four types based on mileage: 26,000, 29,000, 33,000, and 38,000 miles. Travelers can arrange their itineraries and select entry and exit points to visit destinations such as Madagascar in Africa, Russia, Mexico, and the Middle East. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of joining the alliance, from September 28 to October 31, China Airlines will draw one lucky customer per day on its website to receive a SkyTeam-branded model airplane.
