The beauty of the bald cypress forest is forever captivating. This “Bald Cypress Forest” along Nantou’s County Highway 139 has evolved from a hidden gem to a popular photo hotspot. Though compact in size, when the entire cypress grove turns crimson, the view is breathtaking, drawing hordes of visitors to snap photos.

This bald cypress forest sits right on County Highway 139, with the large “Star Moon Sky” restaurant sign nearby—the official owner of the cypress grove. The cypress trees here are available for purchase, but the area is generally open for passersby to visit. In addition to the lush cypress trees, the park features adorable wooden sculptures of stags and snowmen, making it feel like you’re wandering through a Nordic forest.

Although Nantou’s Aowanda’s bald cypresses and maple leaves are famously beautiful, you don’t need to go up the mountain on County Highway 139 to be amazed. The stags carved in wood roaming among the cypress trees add an exotic charm. The bald cypress forest is privately managed land—please do not litter or damage the trees, so this hidden gem can remain beautiful forever.
