It’s great to have “Jia”! Free electric buses will take you to the Glass Shoe Church before the Lantern Festival

Take note: Electric buses in Chiayi are free until the Lantern Festival. With the Lunar New Year approaching, the Chiayi County Government has launched two express electric bus routes just before the holiday break — the “Chiayi HSR Station – Glass Heel Church” and the “Chiayi HSR Station – Tainan Yanshui” — featuring low-floor electric buses. The service will be free of charge until February 11 (Lantern Festival), aiming to let everyone experience how wonderful it is to have “Jia” (Chiayi).

Meanwhile, local businesses in Budai are encouraging public ridership of the electric buses by hosting their own lucky draw events as a tangible way to give back. These include 20 free double rooms from Budai Cultural & Creative Hotel, 200 two-hour electric vehicle experience vouchers from Green Leisure Co., Ltd., 100 sea bus tickets from Chengchao Industrial Tourism Workshop, and 20 gift sets from Heipi Crispy Rice Cake & Meatball Shop.

In addition, passengers riding the “West Coast Express Line” (HSR round-trip to Budai) and the “Chiayi HSR Station – Tainan Yanshui” route (Yanshui to HSR direction only) can obtain lucky draw tickets from the electric bus drivers. Tickets can be submitted at the Low-Carbon Transport Transfer Center (opposite Exit 2 of the Chiayi HSR Station) and Budai Cultural & Creative Hotel.
