In mid-December 2012, the Alila hotel group introduced the “Alila Purnama,” a luxury sailboat handcrafted in the traditional Phinisi style favored by Bugis sailors from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Measuring 46 meters in length, the vessel features three decks, combining sleek design with sustainable concepts. All furnishings onboard are handcrafted from teak, rattan, or local Indonesian materials. With only five double cabins, each offering expansive ocean views, the boat also includes a PADI-certified diving center and a dedicated spa therapist—whether you’re exploring the sea or unwinding onboard, diverse experiences await.

The Alila Purnama’s maiden voyage begins in Indonesia’s Raja Ampat archipelago, home to world-class national parks and countless hidden dive spots. Marine scientists believe that 70% of the world’s coral species originate here. The seven-day, six-night itinerary allows guests to fully explore the underwater world. The trip is scheduled through March 2013, after which the boat will sail to the Komodo archipelago from April to October, embarking on another magical maritime journey.
