Kaohsiung Winter Warm-Up Tour Adds One-Day Trip to Mud Volcano and Badland Landscape for Just NT$399 per Person

The Kaohsiung City Government’s Tourism Bureau recently launched the “Winter Warm-Up in Kaohsiung: Five Exciting Routes” tourism campaign, offering a one-day tour for just NT$399 where you “get to eat and even dig,” along with professional guided tours that take participants on an in-depth travel experience, receiving enthusiastic responses from the public. Now, an additional “Fly to the ‘Moon’ World: Tianliao Tour” has been added. Online and phone registrations are now open, with departures scheduled every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from January 27 to March 10. This one-day trip leads visitors to explore the mud volcano and badland landscape of Moon World, with each participant able to join for just NT$399 and enjoy the warm winter sunshine of Kaohsiung.

This “Fly to the ‘Moon’ World: Tianliao Tour” offers three different travel routes, visiting the Tianliao Moon World Scenic Area, the Buddha Memorial Center in Dashu District, the Gushan Warehouse and Old Iron Bridge Wetlands, as well as the Lifespan Cultural Park and Qishan Old Street in Qishan District, providing visitors with varied leisure experiences. The one-day tour costs NT$399 per person, including guided tours, transportation, a local chicken flavor meal, DIY experience activities, travel insurance, and even local agricultural product souvenirs to take home.

 

The Tourism Bureau has created a hot air balloon-shaped floral sculpture planting at the entrance of the mudstone landscape trail in the Moon World Scenic Area, along with various flower arrangements made from unique grass flowers and shrubs. Through the vibrant imagery of colorful floral hot air balloons, visitors are led into the Moon World Scenic Area, creating a striking visual contrast with the barren, rugged badland landscape behind. In addition, visitors can explore the unique mudstone landscape via observation trails that integrate natural scenery and preserve native vegetation. Guo Mingzhe, a travel lifestyle blogger who joined the event, said that the Kaohsiung City Government’s lightweight construction and promotion of distinctive landform landscapes allow visitors to get close to the natural mud volcano sights through walking or cycling, adding different kinds of fun and experiences to their trips.
