Special shuttle buses on 13 routes to launch on 2/10 in response to Spring Festival travel surge

During the Spring Festival holiday, tourist spots across Taiwan are expected to be crowded with visitors. In addition to releasing the top ten congested scenic areas for this year, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has coordinated with road authorities, police, and related government agencies to strengthen traffic control and expand parking capacity. Moreover, from February 10 to February 17—a total of eight days during the Spring Festival transport operation period for tourist areas—it will guide the launch of 13 dedicated shuttle bus routes. These will be supplemented by 22 Taiwan Good Trip sightseeing bus lines and 49 Taiwan Tourist Shuttle services to alleviate traffic congestion.

Based on past tourism conditions at various scenic spots during the Spring Festival, the top ten most congested popular destinations this year are estimated to be the Jinguashi and Jiufen areas, Nanzhuang area, Sun Moon Lake and Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village area, Xitou and Monster Village area, Wuling Farm, Alishan, Guanziling, Buddha Memorial Center, Kenting, and Chulu Ranch.

 

To encourage the public to use public transportation for travel during the Spring Festival, the Tourism Bureau and related organizations have planned 13 dedicated shuttle bus routes for key tourist areas such as the Northeast Coast (Jinguashi and Jiufen), Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Siayala, Maolin, Dapeng Bay, Taroko, and Wuling Farm. These will operate alongside the 49 “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle” package tours that continue to run during the holiday, as well as the 22 “Taiwan Good Trip” sightseeing bus lines.
