Lottery draw with lantern giveaway as Dàqiáotóu Yán Sān commercial district kicks off Yuanxiao glutinous dumpling sales

Aside from the Taipei Lantern Festival at Yuanshan Exhibition Hall, this year’s highlight of Taipei’s Yuanxiao Festival is the Yuanxiao glutinous dumplings available in the traditional rice food district “Dàqiáotóu Yán Sān commercial district.” The most authentic, traditional, and old-school prepared Yuanxiao glutinous dumplings are available for special pre-order in limited quantities of 500 boxes from now until tomorrow (21st) at 12 noon. In addition, the Dàqiáotóu Yán Sān commercial district will also host a Yuanxiao evening party tomorrow. On-site activities include a limited “free Yuanxiao tasting,” free distribution of 500 DIY shaped lanterns, and participants can also receive one lottery ticket for the draw.

The Dàqiáotóu Yán Sān commercial district has launched a limited-time, limited-quantity special sale event featuring Yuanxiao glutinous dumplings in celebration of the Lantern Festival. These dumplings are made the traditional way, entirely by hand, with each piece solid and plump, evoking memories of Dàqiáotóu’s rice food culture. Alongside the classic best-selling handmade flavors such as sesame, peanut, and savory dumplings, there are also health-conscious options like red glutinous rice sesame and red glutinous rice peanut flavors. Each flavor is available for pre-order of 100 boxes at the original price of NT$40 per box, or a special deal of 3 boxes for just NT$100 (shipping not included), with a limit of 3 boxes per person and while supplies last. The traditional small unfilled glutinous dumplings are originally priced at NT$100 per jin, but are now on special for NT$60 per jin, with no limit on pre-order quantity.

 

Beyond the dumpling special sale, the Dàqiáotóu Yán Sān commercial district is also offering great giveaways. On February 21st at 6:30 PM at the district’s market (No. 116, Section 3, Yanping North Road, “Cǎopǔzǐ” Market), a Yuanxiao evening party will be held. On-site, there will be a limited “free Yuanxiao tasting,” free distribution of 500 DIY snake-shaped lanterns, and all participants can receive one lottery ticket to join the draw.
