Lantern Festival Fireworks Cruise at Hongmao Port Park — Tickets on Sale Now

The Lantern Festival is coming on February 24, and celebration events across Taiwan are kicking off one after another. Kaohsiung’s Hongmao Port Cultural Park, in coordination with the Lantern Festival fireworks at Glory Pier in Asia New Bay Area of Kaohsiung Port, has launched a Lantern Festival Fireworks Cruise. There will be a total of 4 cruises from February 22 to 24. The full fare is NT$250. Tickets can be purchased in advance at convenience store ibon outlets or at the service counter in Warehouse C5 at Pier-2 Art Center, or on-site from 1:30 PM to 8:20 PM on the day of the cruise.

This year’s Lantern Festival Fireworks Cruise includes one session each at 8:30 PM on February 22 and 23, and two sessions on February 24 (Lantern Festival): 6:50 PM and 8:30 PM. Each cruise lasts about 40 minutes and includes a guided tour. Full-price tickets are NT$250, and discounted tickets are NT$150. Each full-price cruise ticket comes with a free Heineken. Passengers can board the boat at Pier-2 (next to Warehouse P2).

 

In addition to its rich cultural and historical heritage, Hongmao Port Cultural Park has become a popular tourist attraction thanks to its unique experience of “riding a yacht, watching the sunset, and seeing large ships enter the harbor.” The park’s three yachts — named according to their geographic environment, industrial characteristics, and religious significance: the “Haishan,” “Wujin,” and “Baobi” — have attracted over 3,000 passengers during the Lunar New Year period.
