High-speed rail and Taiwan Tourist Shuttle offer Ali Mountain combo ticket discount at 23% off

Since July 2010, when Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) partnered with Taiwan Tourist Shuttle to launch combo tickets such as the “Kenting Express” and “Sun Moon Lake Line,” it will introduce the “THSR Ali Mountain Line Combo Ticket” starting tomorrow (the 21st), offering travelers a 25% discount on THSR tickets, as well as a round-trip fare of NT$432 for the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Ali Mountain Line” (original price NT$510), with a minimum total discount of approximately 23%.

THSR Corporation stated that from February 21 to December 30, passengers can preorder the “THSR Ali Mountain Line Combo Ticket” for travel from February 23 to December 31 via 7-ELEVEN ibon convenience service stations. In addition, they can purchase an Ali Mountain Forest Recreation Area ticket for NT$150 (original price: NT$200 on holidays, NT$150 on non-holidays) and a one-way Ali Mountain Forest Railway ticket from “Ali Mountain Station → Jhao-Ping Station” (worth NT$50) as an add-on for NT$150.

 

The “THSR Ali Mountain Line Combo Ticket” includes a standard-class reserved seat on the high-speed rail and a round-trip ticket for the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Ali Mountain Line.” Taking the “Taipei–Chiayi” section as an example, the original price per person is NT$2,670, while the combo ticket is only NT$2,052 per person, saving NT$618—approximately a 23% discount. Passengers can take the high-speed rail to Ali Mountain to enjoy world-famous sights such as sea of clouds, sunrises, cherry blossoms, and waterfalls.
