Last updated 2026-09-25 — As we step into the most comfortable season of the year, Taiwan’s cherry blossoms are transitioning from the native Taiwan mountain cherry and late-blooming double-petal cherry to the famed Yoshino cherry, known as the "fair lady of pink and white."

As we step into the most comfortable season of the year, Taiwan’s cherry blossoms are transitioning from the native Taiwan mountain cherry and late-blooming double-petal cherry to the famed Yoshino cherry, known as the "fair lady of pink and white." New Taipei City is home to cherry blossoms spread across the mountains and urban areas in all 29 districts, with a total exceeding 150,000 trees—ranking first in Taiwan.

Currently, mountain cherry blossoms have begun blooming in areas such as Beixin Highway 104 in Sanxia District, Shuangtai Road in Shuangxi District, Datian Mountain in Xizhi District, and the Gold Museum in Ruifang District... Urban areas also boast beautiful cherry blossom sights, including Ren’ai Park in Yonghe District, Bajisan Park in Zhonghe District, and the Land Administration Office in Shulin District.
Additionally, the highly anticipated cherry blossom season at Tamsui Tianyuan Temple is expected to begin on March 9, with a vibrant full bloom in mid-March. Those wishing to catch the sight of dancing pink petals should check the New Taipei City Government’s official “2013 New Taipei Cherry Blossom Festival” website for updates on blossom conditions across districts. There is also a “Flower Viewing Bulletin” Facebook fan page that provides real-time flower viewing information and interacts with the public.
