The Pescadores Annual Highlight: The Sea Fireworks Festival Makes a Dazzling Debut

The annual Pescadores event—the Pescadores Sea Fireworks Festival—kicks off today and will run until June 24. In 2013, it coincides with the celebration of Penghu County joining the international "Most Beautiful Bays in the World" organization under the name "Taiwan’s Penghu Bay." Therefore, the "2013 Pescadores Sea Fireworks Festival" specially takes "The Most Beautiful Bay, The Most Spectacular Fireworks" as its theme, featuring a two-and-a-half-month event series with a total of 20 shows.

The Sea Fireworks Festival, which attracts many domestic and international tourists to Penghu each year, will take place every Monday and Thursday during the event period from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the actual fireworks show running from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM. The event will be held at the Guanyin Pavilion Leisure Area. In addition to the fireworks, there will also be group performances in the evenings. For April events, on April 22 there will be AK and Jolin Tsai, on April 25 there will be Fanghu National Music and Happy Entertainment Dance, and on April 29 there will be Chrysanthemum Tribe Dance and the CrazeDay Band, among others. Furthermore, the Penghu Living Museum, in conjunction with the Pescadores Sea Fireworks Festival, will remain open on its originally scheduled Thursdays despite being a closure day. Visitors who purchase tickets to enter the museum during the festival period will receive one complimentary souvenir postcard with a composite photo. The Penghu Living Museum is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
