The Regent Taipei has invited a Michelin-starred chef to guest in residence for the first time since its opening three years ago. Chef Mak Kwai Pui from Hong Kong’s renowned dim sum specialty shop 【Tim Ho Wan】 — many have heard of this Michelin-rated Hong Kong delight, and quite a few have personally savored it. From July 1 to August 31, the hotel will offer an exclusive full menu of ‘Tim Ho Wan’ Michelin-style dim sum, with prices starting at just over a hundred NT dollars, in line with Chef Mak’s culinary philosophy — “absolutely delicious fare that everyone can enjoy.”

To demonstrate its commitment to the dining scene, The Regent Taipei has taken a more formal approach than its peers by assembling several chefs from the Yunlan Tourism Group. Led by Chef Chen Weiqiang, the team traveled to Hong Kong to train under Chef Mak for nearly a month, studying every secret and step of the Michelin dim sum recipes from 3:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. They are dedicated to bringing Taiwanese diners an authentic, star-level dim sum experience, reproduced exactly as in Hong Kong.
Currently, the two Gala Dinners at The Regent Taipei on June 28 sold out within a week of being announced. In response to overwhelming customer enthusiasm and in alignment with the summer holiday season, the hotel will additionally offer dim sum afternoon tea sessions at the Royal Palace from July 1 to August 31.
All Michelin-style dim sum will be available at a flat rate of 99 NT dollars during these service hours (original prices range from about 100 to 280 NT dollars), allowing all Taiwanese fans of ‘Tim Ho Wan’ to revisit this Asian culinary pride — a must-try dish — as often as they like, without the need to travel all the way to Hong Kong.
