The Yellow Rubber Duck Makes Its Mid-Autumn Debut with a Host of Exclusive Offers

As September arrives, the highly anticipated Yellow Rubber Duck is set to make its appearance on the Mid-Autumn Festival this month, the 19th. To welcome the Yellow Rubber Duck, Dream Mall in Kaohsiung, Howard Plaza Hotel, Howard Johnson Plaza Kaohsiung, and E-DA World have each launched exclusive activities and great offers, while the Hongmao Port Cultural Park has added new duck-viewing cruises. Kaohsiung MRT has also introduced special duck-viewing ticket packages, ensuring an exciting experience for all duck fans.

The Yellow Rubber Duck has sparked a duck-viewing craze. Dream Mall will hold a sand sculpture exhibition along Era Boulevard from September 19 to October 20, featuring Taiwan’s first-ever 6-meter sand sculpture of the duck. Howard Plaza Hotel is offering a special promotion during the duck exhibition period, starting at NT$5,300+10% for harbor-view premium rooms, which includes a complimentary 30cm duck plush toy, a box of duck-shaped soap, and free access to the pool and fitness center. Howard Johnson Plaza Kaohsiung presents the “Cute Yellow Duck Kaohsiung Harbor Leisure Stay Package,” starting at NT$4,599+10% per night, which includes a complimentary buffet breakfast, a NT$100 bicycle voucher for Qijin, and bath ducks based on the number of guests, plus a harbor yacht tour around Kaohsiung Harbor to see the duck.

 

E-DA World is offering discounts to residents of Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. Show a photo of yourself with the Yellow Rubber Duck at Glory Pier and your ID at E-DA World Theme Park to enjoy tickets for just NT$699, plus a complimentary mascot keychain of the Lucky Stork. The E-DA Crown Plaza Hotel has launched a “Super Value Tribute” package, offering a one-night stay with one meal. Guests who show a photo taken at Glory Pier and like the hotel’s Facebook fan page can enjoy an additional 10% discount on the promotional rate. E-DA Regent Hotel has placed a Yellow Rubber Duck in the outdoor garden restaurant pool and, during the duck exhibition, has introduced a joyful children’s meal for NT$260+10% per serving, along with a “Yellow Rubber Duck Set.”

In addition, the Hongmao Port Cultural Park has specially added a new harbor cruise route between “Pier-2—Asia New Bay Area.” In addition to getting up close with the Yellow Rubber Duck, the cruise features professional guides who will take visitors on a tour of nearby docks and introduce public landmarks such as the World Trade Exhibition Center and the Ocean Cultural & Pop Music Center.

 

Kaohsiung MRT, in collaboration with the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Tourism Bureau, and bus authority, has launched the “Kaohsiung MRT Happy Duck-Viewing Fun” ticket package, which includes a one-day MRT pass, a Hongmao Port yacht ticket, a pocket-sized travel guide, and a cute Yellow Rubber Duck. There is also an early bird option: pre-order from September 7–13 for NT$299, and NT$349 after September 14, limited to 1,000 sets. These can be purchased at MRT service counters and the MRT Goods Store at Formosa Boulevard Station. From September 20 until the end of the exhibition, MRT service counters at all stations will also sell a Yellow Rubber Duck version of the regular stored-value card, with NT$30 credit and a complimentary cute Yellow Rubber Duck, priced at NT$300 per card. Cardholders can directly register at the duck boat Love River ticket booth to board the duck boat, departing from Glory Pier and sailing to the area near Zhongzheng Bridge to view Asia’s largest and the world’s second-largest Yellow Rubber Duck up close.
