The Sun Moon Lake Fireworks Music Carnival Lights Up the Night Sky on October 5

 

The annual autumn highlight of Sun Moon Lake—the Sun Moon Lake International Fireworks Music Carnival series of events—will kick off at Ita Thao Wharf from October 5 to November 10. This year’s lineup features concerts, fireworks displays, orienteering races, the Brave Feet Lakeside Hike, Family Water Hike, Fireworks Concerts, and National Day Tribute Concerts, allowing visitors to enjoy the diverse charms of Sun Moon Lake from morning till night.

The first event, “The North Face Sun Moon Lake Mountain Music & Fireworks Festival,” will begin on October 5 at Ita Thao Wharf. Activities starting at 2:00 PM include orienteering races, the Brave Feet Lakeside Hike, and Family Water Hike. The concert kicks off at 5:30 PM, featuring performances by artists and groups such as Kung Ling-Chi, Wang Hong-En, Li Wei-Feng, MATZKA, Bear Baby, and Jia Jia. The highly anticipated lakeside fireworks show will also light up the night.

 

Following that, the “Taiwan Mobile Fireworks Music Concert: Phantom Voices” on October 12 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM will feature soprano Fu Shang-Zhen, tenor Wang Dian, conductor Chiang Ching-Po, and the Rhythms Symphony Orchestra performing classic selections from *The Phantom of the Opera*, including “Night Song” and “Think of Me.” On October 13, the “2013 Sun Moon Lake International Fireworks Music Carnival – National Day Tribute Concert” will be presented by the Wind Orchestra affiliated with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, featuring works such as Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” Lee Che-Yi’s “Temple Square,” and Bernstein’s “Candide Overture.” Both concerts will be held at Zhongxing Parking Lot.

 

From October 18 to November 10, additional events include the “Love Forever, Wed in Sun Moon Lake” Nantou County Group Wedding 2013, Oscar Movie Concerts, Autumn Harmony Vocal & Dance Concerts, and the Sun Moon Lake Come!
