Revival Airlines Group recently received official notification from the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA), granting approval to establish Taiwan’s first low-cost airline. In addition to bringing a homegrown low-cost brand to Taiwan’s aviation market, this move will also usher in a new era for the island’s aviation industry. Revival Airlines Group has also launched the “Name Taiwan’s First Low-Cost Airline” campaign, inviting the public to suggest a name for the carrier. The person whose proposed name is selected and successfully registered as a trademark will receive the extraordinary reward of unlimited, all-cabin-class free flights on the airline for ten years.

This new low-cost airline, wholly owned and operated by Revival Airlines Group, is not only Taiwan’s first homegrown low-cost brand but also the first to be designed with Taiwan’s market and local consumer habits in mind. The new company plans to build its fleet primarily with new A320 and A321 aircraft, offering flights with durations of up to five hours. Subject to regulatory approval and thorough safety preparations, the airline aims to commence operations within one year.
To celebrate obtaining approval to establish Taiwan’s first low-cost airline and to enhance public engagement, Revival Airlines Group has specially launched the “Name Taiwan’s First Low-Cost Airline” contest. Entries must include a Chinese and English name pair along with a naming rationale of no more than 300 characters. Citizens of the Republic of China are encouraged to unleash their creativity and submit their ideas. If the submitted name is selected by the judging panel and officially approved and registered, the proposer will enjoy unlimited, all-cabin-class free flights on the named airline for ten years. The submission period runs from now until December 20. Detailed contest rules can be found on the Revival Airlines official website.
