The nationwide-first sound-activated Bitan Suspension Bridge light show officially debuted in late July this year to the lively third movement of Vivaldi’s “Summer” from The Four Seasons, stunning all who saw it. As the seasons progress toward December and temperatures gradually drop, to spread the warmth and festive spirit of Christmas in the cold winter, not only did “2013 New Taipei City Christmas Town” officially kick off last weekend, but recently, the Bitan Suspension Bridge has also quietly donned a Christmas outfit, dancing lightly to the notes of “Christmas Carol.” If you're looking to soak in the joyful atmosphere and heartwarming spirit of the upcoming Christmas holiday, in addition to joining the various events of “2013 New Taipei City Christmas Town,” starting December 1st, you can also head to Bitan to enjoy the bridge’s light show Christmas performance, which takes place every hour from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM each evening.

To welcome Christmas, the Bitan Suspension Bridge light show uses the most recognizable basic Christmas colors—red and green—as transitional hues, complemented by a variety of other colors including blue, white, red, yellow, pink, and purple to present scenes such as snowscapes and dazzling ripples, making you feel as if you’re right in a Christmas setting. Through the vivid light show, you can experience the festive and warm atmosphere together.
When visiting Bitan during the Christmas season, don’t miss the nearly four-story-tall, 12-meter-high Christmas tree located at the East Bank Plaza. Starting December 1st, every evening from 6:00 PM to midnight, the towering Christmas tree will also light up its ornaments, with red, orange, blue, and green lights gradually illuminating, showcasing their layers through brightness and adding even more romance and warmth to Bitan.

In addition to the spectacular seasonal suspension bridge light show and Christmas tree lighting, shops in the Bitan Waterfront Commercial Area are also launching the “Christmas ‘Snow Madness’ New Year’s Eve Party” promotion campaign: including the “Fans’ Christmas Q-Gift,” from December 21 to 25 and December 31, visitors to Dona Kabana, Chibi Dining, Bishuitang, WaterFront, Ramen Prince, and Yakitori Teppanyaki Western Cuisine restaurants can scan the QR code at the venue to follow their fan pages and post a photo on their social wall to receive one of two limited-edition gifts; “Crazy Christmas Fistfight,” from December 24 to 25, customers who dine at the above-mentioned restaurants can play an ultimate game of rock-paper-scissors with Santa Claus, and winners will receive a snack tasting coupon; finally, on December 31st, the waterfront commercial area will host a “New Year’s Eve Wish Party,” welcoming the new year with a night glow live concert.
