Thank you, Taiwan！A grand tour of Taiwan’s classic car loop with 60 vintage vehicles

 

 

 

 

 

The event route was revised multiple times by the Japanese organizers before being finalized. Sixty vintage cars manufactured before 1974 will depart at 10:00 AM on November 28 from the square in front of the Presidential Office. The route will pass through Hsinchu, Taichung, Nantou, Yunlin, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Taitung, Hualien, Yilan, New Taipei City, and Taipei. On December 1, participants will take a ferry from Hualien Port back to Su’ao Port, then return to Taipei’s Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall via Provincial Highway 2 and Fulong. Over the four-day island-loop journey, the rally will visit or stop at numerous Taiwanese historical buildings and natural attractions linked to Japanese history, including the Grand Hotel, civic squares in Hsinchu County and Taichung City, a parking lot near Zhubei City, the Sun Moon Lake Xiangshan Visitor Center, the Gukeng Rest Area, the Wushantou Hatoyama-Ichi Memorial Park, the Kaohsiung World Trade Exhibition and Convention Center, the Pingtung Dapeng Bay Racing Circuit, the Pingtung Fangshan Recreation Area along Ping’e Highway, the Taitung Native Plant Garden, the Guangfu Sugar Refinery, and the Sea Mining Exploration Museum. By following these routes, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the land that nurtured such kind-hearted people, and they hope to promote Taiwan’s beauty and share this friendly Taiwan-Japan relationship with the next generation.
