“Fortune Shines in Gold” Macau New Year Event Features Daily 3D Light Shows

From now until February 16, the Golden Reel Resort will stage the “Fortune Shines in Gold” New Year event at the outdoor artificial lake area of The Venetian Macao. Key highlights include exquisitely decorated fiberglass horse sculptures, 3D light projection shows, a colorful carousel, a New Year archway, and a massive 40-ton peach blossom tree. Additional attractions include fortune-telling, lucky draws, calligraphy stations for writing spring couplets, balloon-twisting game booths, a real snow ice-skating rink, as well as LED-enhanced lion and dragon dances.

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, the Golden Reel Resort has partnered with the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region to support the local art event “Anno Equitum.” Thirty-eight local Macao artists have each designed festive-themed decorations for a two-meter-tall horse sculpture, showcasing their unique styles. The artworks brim with creativity—featuring horses draped in red lace, painted with black-green patterns, adorned with gold sequins and shiny beads, and even decorated with Macao cityscapes. From now until February 16, 18 of these vibrant and one-of-a-kind horse sculptures will be displayed at the outdoor artificial lake area, while the other 20 will be placed at various locations around Macao.

 

Another unmissable highlight of “Fortune Shines in Gold” is the 3D light projection show, also titled “Fortune Shines in Gold,” which incorporates New Year elements. The show will run every evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM until February 16, with projections onto the exterior of The Venetian Macao every 30 minutes, taking audiences on an imaginative journey. This visually stunning experience includes various thematic images such as bidding farewell to the Year of the Snake and welcoming the Year of the Horse, as well as golden coins pouring down as symbols of good fortune. Other exciting performances include LED-enhanced lion and dragon dances, taking place from January 31 to February 9 at 6:41 PM and 7:41 PM each evening for 10 minutes. The God of Fortune will also make appearances from January 31 to February 9 between 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM at the outdoor artificial lake area, handing out chocolate ingots symbolizing wealth and luck to visitors.

Additionally, a gleaming New Year archway will welcome visitors to the Golden Reel Resort. The site is also decorated with a shimmering wishing tree, features a real snow ice-skating rink, a 40-ton giant peach blossom tree, and a magnificent carousel. Visitors can also enjoy fortune-telling, take part in a lucky draw (prizes include discounted entries to the ice-skating rink and carousel rides), and join arts-and-crafts and balloon games. Each balloon game costs less than MOP 100, and all proceeds will go to the Macao branch of Orbis International, a global non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to blindness prevention.
