To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Taipei Zoo, one hundred paper-cut animal sculptures have been installed in the zoo starting today, with the exhibition expected to run until the end of April at the Education Center. Taiwanese paper-cut artist Chen Xuejian has crafted a three-dimensional, poseable panda as a multifunctional display item. In honor of the zoo’s centennial, 100 pandas plus 2 penguins are being exhibited at the zoo’s Education Center.

Taiwanese paper-cut artist Chen Xuejian has been designing three-dimensional paper-cut animals such as giant pandas, penguins, rhinos, and dinosaurs for several years, allowing children and adults alike to enjoy the fun of hands-on crafting. For the 100th anniversary celebration of Taipei Zoo on February 14 this year, he presented 2 large and 98 regular-sized paper-cut pandas along with 2 penguins, showcasing the rich behaviors of giant pandas through various poses and expressions. The sculptures are displayed in layered stacks to wish the zoo a happy 100th birthday.

Thank you all for your care and love for the giant panda “Yuan Zai.” Yuan Zai is growing steadily, and the zoo will provide videos of Yuan Zai irregularly in the future. However, the daily “Yuan Zai Time” MOD live broadcast from 16:00 to 17:00 will continue. Fans of Yuan Zai can watch the panda’s activities through the live stream or replay broadcasts.
