The countdown to the end of the Yangmingshan Flower Festival has begun—farewell to the cherry blossom flurry, until we meet again next year.

The annual Yangmingshan Flower Festival is set to conclude on March 9. This year, the six major festival sites have welcomed over one million visitors in total, with Yangmingshan Park alone attracting as many as 860,000 visitors. This year’s Yangmingshan Flower Festival united six major attractions—Yangmingshan National Park, the Flower Research and Development Center, the Former Residence of Lin Yutang, Shuangxi Park, Shilin Official Residence, and Zhongshan Hall—to celebrate together. In addition to the vibrant bloom of over 3,000 cherry blossom trees of various species across the Yangmingshan area, the event period also featured art exhibitions such as wooden sculptures by artist Wu Xuansan and blue-and-white porcelain artworks by Chihsiang Tseng.

The final highlights of this year’s Yangmingshan Flower Festival include Yoshino cherry blossoms, daffodils, and azaleas. Aside from the area near the Visitor Center in Yangmingshan Park, Yoshino cherry blossoms can also be admired at the Flower Research and Development Center near the Shanzihou Police Station stop on Yangmingshan University campus, along Hutanli Industrial Road, Quanyuanli Mountain Trail, and along the Dongf Road corridor. According to real-time flower-blooming updates from the Taipei New Flower website, as of now, 85% of the Yoshino cherry blossoms at the Flower Research and Development Center have bloomed, with some already beginning to sprout leaves, while the rest are mostly in leafing stages. Those who haven’t yet had the chance to admire the beautiful blossoms this year should make the most of these final days.
