Forbidden City ticket prices surge！ Foreign tourists pay 150% more, Taiwanese visitors save 10 yuan

The National Palace Museum recently announced that, considering rising costs and changes in the consumer price index, as well as referencing ticket prices at major museums abroad, admission fees will be increased starting July 1. The regular ticket price will rise from 160 yuan to 250 yuan, group tickets from 100 yuan to 230 yuan (an additional 20 yuan will be charged for the audio guide rental), and discounted tickets from 80 yuan to 150 yuan.

In addition, the museum has also announced preferential schemes for local residents. Taiwanese citizens can enjoy the discounted ticket price of 150 yuan at all times by presenting their ID card. During off-peak hours, the museum extends its opening hours until 6:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, during which Taiwanese citizens can enter free of charge upon presenting their ID card. Additionally, low-income households, people with disabilities, students, and seniors aged 65 and above are also eligible for free admission.
