Purple hyacinth orchids bloom in Zhuzihhu, recreating the dreamy beauty of Taipei’s mountain city

In 2014, the Zhuzihhu Hyacinth Orchid Season series of events is themed “Dream Hyacinth Orchids · Dream Fields,” in response to Zhuzihhu Community being awarded the Bronze Award in the city category of the “International Awards for Liveable Communities,” often referred to as the “Green Oscars,” last year. This year’s hyacinth orchid landscape and floral designs primarily transform the hyacinth orchid farms into scenes from the “childhood dreams” of the farm owners, while also evoking visitors’ memories and dreams of home—such as “Clouds’ Journey,” imagining traveling with dreams under the blessing of hyacinth orchids, and “Dream Primitive Era,” reminiscing about old times and returning to the initial emotions of Zhuzihhu. Additionally, at the Zhuzihhu entrance parking lot, the story is enriched with the Taipei City Government’s mascot “Yuanyuan” the panda, blending with the beauty of hyacinth orchids to create flower landscapes with different atmospheres for visitors to take photos.

 

 

It is worth mentioning that farm owner Gao Yu-xuan, in order to maintain the flower sea landscape within the park, has not allowed visitors to pick flowers for two consecutive years. He hopes that visitors hiking up the mountain can stroll along the stream trail and find themselves surrounded by vast stretches of beautiful white flowers, enjoying the dreamy atmosphere of the mountain hyacinth orchid fields.
