【Friday Fun in Taiwan】Taipei’s Calla Lilies in Full Bloom & Tainan’s Kapok Tree Lane is Super Romantic

The annual spring highlight of Yangmingshan National Park — the Zhuzihhu Calla Lily Season — kicks off today and runs until April 27 at Zhuzihhu. This year, in addition to the five riverside walking trails around Zhuzihhu recommended by the Taipei City Government’s Public Works Department, Urban Development Bureau, which allow calla lily enthusiasts to stroll among the blooms and enjoy the forest’s phytoncides while leisurely wandering through the white sea of calla lilies, the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters has also planned an “Ecological Tour of Zhuzihhu” route. Led by professional guides, visitors can explore the local cultural heritage and traditional industries, experiencing the area’s unique natural and humanistic features and scenery.

The Taipei Zoo and Japan’s Tama Zoological Park signed a sister zoo agreement back in November 1994, aiming to integrate cross-border resources to jointly work on wildlife conservation. Due to the extreme difficulty of importing endangered species, after much effort, the famous red panda star “A-Chang” from Tama Zoo finally arrived in Taiwan this January. After successfully completing its quarantine period, it has now officially made its debut in the Temperate Zone Animal Area.

Maokong boasts continuous mountain vistas and layered tea plantation charm, making it Taipei’s most famous tea-growing region. The kapok tree lane in Baihe Lin Chupi, Tainan, is in full bloom, attracting many visitors to experience its romantic atmosphere. You can also explore nearby attractions such as the Little South Bay Scenic Area, Jingliao No-Rice-Leisure Community, Guanziling Hot Spring Area, and Dongshan Coffee Leisure Zone, fully immersing yourself in Tainan’s countryside leisure vibe.

 

During the blooming season of the kapok trees in Lin Chupi, apart from taking photos under the kapok tree lane, visitors can also head to the Little South Bay Scenic Area to enjoy its uniquely serene beauty, or go to Dongshan District for a taste of aromatic coffee. You can also visit Guanziling to experience the charm of Taiwan’s only mud hot springs, or go to Jingliao in Houbi to lose yourself in the rustic charm of the Old Street in the No-Rice-Leisure Community, embarking on an in-depth rural tourism journey through Baihe, Houbi, and Dongshan.
