2014 Build Light Taichung Prefectural Hall Fixed Light Show
Taichung Prefectural Hall’s 3D light and laser fixed show “Dragon Boat Festival Blessing Edition” will begin screening from May 31 until early July, showing every Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Taichung Prefectural Hall. Using stunning 3D light art, it tells the century-long charm of Taichung Prefectural Hall. In the classic version of the film, various seasonal segments such as the “Lunar New Year Greeting Edition” and “Mazu Legend Edition” have been aired successively. Following the holiday, the “Dragon Boat Festival Blessing Edition” will be launched, with a story lasting about 4 minutes. It offers citizens a festive cultural banquet. Welcome to Taichung Prefectural Hall on Saturday evenings to experience this “exclusively Taichung” art feast.

After May, the production of calla lilies has decreased significantly. Calla lily fields are also entering their summer dormancy period, going through root recovery, leaf growth, and flower bud differentiation in autumn and winter before blooming again in the following spring.

Tainan Baihe Lotus Season
The Tainan Baihe Lotus Season, organized by the Tainan City Government from May 22 to July 13, offers a series of related events. Seize the opportunity to enjoy lotuses in Baihe, Tainan. The Baihe District of Tainan City has the largest lotus cultivation area in Taiwan and is known as the “Hometown of Lotuses.” This year, thanks to the efforts of the municipal government team and local lotus farmers, the lotus field area has expanded to over 350 hectares. Along with event activities, a Lotus Boulevard has been set up, creating a sea of blossoms landscape.
Besides admiring the beautiful lotuses, the lotus cuisine in Baihe is a must-try delicacy. The district office also displayed popular lotus seed dishes at the press conference. Meanwhile, local businesses in Baihe have developed various creative lotus seed products to tantalize your taste buds, such as lotus root rice, pickled lotus roots, lotus seed desserts, and more. In addition to sweet lotus glutinous rice dishes, there are also lotus leaf chicken and other special dishes. Visitors are encouraged to try the authentic local flavors. Various lotus-themed activities and experiences are available for families and groups.
