●Carry on the charm of the Yellow Duckling with Hoffmann’s “Moon Rabbit” for a Mid-Autumn celebration
Over the past year, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s giant Yellow Duckling has charmed people around the world, and its exhibition in Taiwan ignited a duck-chasing craze among locals. Following the massive popularity of the Yellow Duckling at the 2013 Taoyuan Land Art Festival, the 2014 Taoyuan Land Art Festivalis set to take place from September 4 to September 14 at the Taoyuan Dayuan Naval Base, and this year once again invites Dutch artist Hoffmann to create a special themed installation — the “Moon Rabbit” — to join in the festivities and celebrate the Mid-Autumn holiday with the public!

●Head to Kaohsiung’s Badlands for a magical Mid-Autumn adventure
With the Mid-Autumn holiday approaching, the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau will leverage the unique landscape of the Tianliao Moon World — featuring rugged mudstone badlands — and use lighting and projection mapping techniques to present a never-before-seen nighttime spectacle.

From September 6 to October 5, the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau will host a series of “Magical Moon World” events along the lakeside trail of the Moon World Geo Park, all under a fantasy theme. The highlight is the introduction of Taiwan’s first mobile projection mapping system, which uses unique image stitching and cross-projection technologies to deliver a “3D Projection Mapping Show” that blends special effects animations into themed projections, giving audiences a magical visual experience where light and shadow intertwine.

Nighttime in the Moon World will also feature various themed light projections, complemented by reflections in Yuchi Lake, creating diverse magical views of the surrounding cliffs and lakeside scenery. The tourism bureau will also arrange shuttle buses from the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Qiaotou Station, one of which will be specially designed as the “Pili Painting Shuttle Bus,” providing convenient transport for Pili fans and the general public.

National Freeway No. 1: Exit at Luzhu Interchange, continue along County Highway 184 to Gangshan Tou, then drive another 5 km where signs will direct you to Tianliao Moon World.
