A few years ago, a group of high school students spent an entire semester visiting railway stations across Taiwan on weekends. After exploring over 300 stations, they selected what they unanimously deemed the most beautiful one: Duoliang Station. Situated higher than Provincial Highway 9, the station offers an unobstructed view from its platform as you wait for your train. The red railings along the platform frame the backdrop of blue sea and sky, creating a simple yet pure expanse of beauty that has earned Duoliang the title “Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Railway Station.”

Duoliang Station is not hard to find — just turn right at the 417.5 km mark on Provincial Highway 9, pass through the tunnel under the tracks, and follow the uphill road to reach it. Though long abandoned, media coverage and online sharing have turned it into a bustling spot filled with visitors drawn to its breathtaking seaside mountain scenery. After the station closed, the road connecting to the platform was removed. Now, visitors can only view the Pacific Ocean from the roof of the original concrete station building. When trains speed past the nearby tunnel against the endless blue background, it becomes a much-anticipated scene for rail enthusiasts and photographers alike.

A short walk up the path beside the station leads to the long-shuttered Duoliang Elementary School, which has since been transformed into the Yangguang Heritage Workshop. Here, driftwood crafts are sold, and a coffee bar is set up alongside the artwork in the first-floor classroom. The Yangguang Heritage Wood Workshop hopes not only to give new value to driftwood, but also to help lost souls rediscover themselves amid this pure and beautiful natural landscape. If you’re feeling tired from your journey, come here to find yourself again.
