Taichung’s ultra-popular “Yokochi Ice no Monster” is heading to Taipei — opening expected in March!

The immensely popular Yokochi Ice no Monster in Taichung has captured the hearts of many with its adorable monster-themed shaved ice, becoming a must-try dessert shop in the city. Recently, its official fan page also announced that it will open in Taipei on Civic Boulevard in March, and has launched a campaign offering 100 people the opportunity for an early free tasting to promote the new Taipei store.

Located in a renovated old building near the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung, Yokochi Ice no Monster serves a variety of colorful shaved ice topped with large eyes made from icing and dark chocolate, all arranged in an aesthetic Japanese style with various toppings — the signature super-cute “Monster-Eyed Shaved Ice.” Currently, there are two branches: Chunzhong Store and Wenxin Store. In 2017, it made its first expansion outside Taichung, choosing the competitive Taipei market as its first test. It is set to open in March, aiming to charm Taipei’s girls with its adorable monster-themed ice.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, a campaign is also being held on the fan page to give away free tasting opportunities to 100 people. Fans who participate in the event can enter a lucky draw for a chance to enjoy the ice for free. Currently, only the information that the Taipei store will be located on Civic Boulevard has been released — the exact address and contact details have not yet been disclosed.
