The “New Taipei City Christmasland” officially lit up at 6 PM on the 15th, dazzling the entire city and becoming the brightest spot of Christmas cheer in Taiwan — kicking off the festive season earlier than anywhere else. This year’s Christmasland has once again broken records, staying lively all the way until January 4, 2015,not only setting a new record for the longest-running holiday event but also introducing a pastel macaron color scheme to the light displays this year. Moving beyond the traditional red, white, and green Christmas palette, it aims to offer all visitors a more colorful and vibrant holiday evening.

This year’s New Taipei Christmasland Christmas tree is made from 2,700 one-meter LED tubes, reaching a height of 36 meters. The arrangement of the tubes creates lively computer animations and graphics, making it not only the tallest Christmas tree display in the nation,but also featuring a main light show that plays for 3 minutes and 55 seconds every hour between 6 PM and 10 PM daily, adding even more fun to the light viewing experience.In addition to the Christmas tree, the surrounding landscape pillars have been transformed into the whistle of an express train, which also emits smoke and sounds its horn. The streets, in addition to being decorated with light displays similar to last year’s, also feature a newly added “Rainbow Avenue” in front of Banqiao Railway Station Square.
