The Mandarin Oriental Taipei has lit up its square on Dunhua North Road with a Christmas tree that breaks tradition with its pink exterior. Standing at an impressive 20 meters, it’s the tallest and most spectacular colorful Christmas tree among all five-star hotels in Taiwan. When night falls, the tree is adorned with flowing blue lights, creating a romantic Christmas forest ambiance and establishing itself as a new luxurious holiday destination in Taipei’s winter festivities.

This year’s “Gongguan Christmas Season” features an eco-friendly theme with a 15-meter-high Christmas tree made of plastic bottles and large-scale installations. In addition to a variety of delicate floral displays and holiday decorations, the park also presents a unique starry light show. Festivities will continue until the end of December—come celebrate the holidays together with joy and cheer.

New Taipei City Christmas Town
Each year, the Civic Plaza in New Taipei City unveils the nation’s tallest 36-meter Christmas tree. This year, the joyful Christmas Town will be open for 51 consecutive days, all the way through January 4, 2015, setting new records for the longest duration of performances, the highest density of LED lights, the longest light display, and the tallest Christmas tree in the event’s history. For the first time, the display incorporates a nationally exclusive macaron color scheme, breaking away from the usual red, yellow, blue, and green palette to offer the public a fresh visual experience.
