The Flower Sea Season in Hualien and Taitung Has Begun – 19 Scenic Spots Bursting with Color for the Lunar New Year
Every winter, the most anticipated Flower Sea Season in Hualien and Taitung kicks off. This year,Fuli, Chishang, Guanshan, Chenggong, and Beinan—five major townships—create themed floral backdrops, alongside 345 hectares of rapeseed fields and 102 hectares of cosmos fields along the 12 townships of the East Rift Valley. Additionally, the coastal area along Provincial Highway 11 in Changbin also features floral field landscapes, with breathtaking scenes set to bloom one after another. At the same time, local farmer associations have created edible crop displays as part of the floral art, paired with flower sea shuttle buses, offering visitors half-day flower-and-farm experiences and farm-inspired meals. Everyone is welcome to come and feast both their eyes and taste buds.

This year’s Flower Sea themes in Hualien and Taitung include ‘Peacock Displaying Its Feathers – Five Elements Soaring’ in Fuli Township, ‘Four Seasons Flower Sea – Nature in Harmony’ in Chishang Township, ‘Earth Puzzle’ in Guanshan Township, ‘Flower Heart, Farm Sentiment, Under the Straw Hat’ in Beinan Township, and ‘Sunrise at Three Immortals · Slow Life in Chenggong’ in Chenggong Township, all incorporating straw and driftwood installation art to create landscape designs.
