A new highlight of painted staircases in New Taipei: enjoy masterpieces right before your eyes!
To make the water-access staircases around the Erchong Floodway in New Taipei City more vibrant and engaging, the Water Resources Bureau incorporated creative inspirations from renowned painters such as Van Gogh and Monet at the initial design stage of the staircase paintings. These ideas were thoughtfully integrated with local elements, using highly dynamic and playful compositions to perfectly paint the water-friendly staircases. This transformed the originally cold concrete steps into the most eye-catching feature of the surrounding environment. As people go up and down the stairs, their faces light up with satisfied and amazed smiles, filled with happiness and a strong sense of local identity.
