Travel the world through your nose: Experience five countries' scents in London

To help travelers imagine their journeys in advance, Heathrow Airport in the UK has set up a Scent Globe inside the terminal. Passengers simply need to select a specific country on the screen, and the globe will release a fragrance unique to that country, allowing them to explore the world through scent even before departure and conjure up images of the destination.

In collaboration with a scent design company, Heathrow Airport has created five exclusive fragrances inspired by national elements, representing the following five countries:South Africa, Brazil, Japan, China, and Thailand— representing adventure and safari in South Africa, mixed with tribal incense and earthy wild grass aromas; Brazil evokes the richness of tropical rainforest wildlife, along with hints of coffee, tobacco, and jasmine; Japan is given a cool oceanic scent, infused with extracts of seaweed and seashells, matcha, and ambergris; China offers temple incense and delicate osmanthus, creating an impression of the East; while Thailand combines zesty lemongrass, ginger, and coconut, as if whetting the appetite for tangy and spicy Thai cuisine.
