Eastern Japan’s Largest Million-Light Festival of Lights Event – Dreamy Night Cherry Blossoms at Sagamiko Lake Illumination
Kanagawa Prefecture is hosting the “Sagamiko Lake Illumination” night cherry blossom event, which will be held from March 20 to April 5 and from April 10 to April 12. This spectacular light festival, known as the largest-scale event in eastern Japan, features an overwhelming number of five million colorful lights. The brilliant illuminations combined with the night cherry blossoms enhance the scenery, creating a fantastical and enchanting nighttime atmosphere.

The “Sagamiko Lake Illumination” takes place at the Sagamiko Resort, a comprehensive outdoor resort that includes an amusement park, barbecue area, and day-trip hot spring facilities. It is the largest lighting event in the Kanto region, covering an area of approximately 40,000 square meters. Lively and thematically rich lights shine with overwhelming scale in the forest at night, creating a fantastical world that can’t be experienced in the city. From central Tokyo, it only takes about one hour to reach this world woven by light and shadow.
