Ten thousand lilies smile brightly—Zhongshe Lily Festival in Houli is a feast for the eyes

Zhongshe Sightseeing Flower Market, following its Tulip Festival, has specially imported about 100,000 bulbs from the Netherlands. After undergoing cold storage and being planted in batches, the park now showcases four major types of lilies: Oriental, Asiatic, Trumpet (Longiflorum), and LA. It has also introduced less common varieties in Taiwan such as Purple Eye, Double Red, Pink Scented, Large-flowered Convallaria, Cappuccino, Black Beauty, and Fine-leaved Mountain Lily. The Lily Festival will continue until the end of June, allowing visitors to admire up to 12,000 blooming lilies across six hectares of floral seas. Industry insiders also mentioned that the typical blooming period for lilies is around 10 to 15 days, with winter and spring being the best seasons for planting, yielding vibrant and eye-catching blooms. Visitors who wish to take flowers home can also purchase fragrant Oriental lilies and Trumpet lilies at the adjacent flower market.
