With the arrival of the firefly-watching season, the Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area Nature Education Center will host four two-day, one-night “Mabao Mini Trips – Firefly Starry Night” overnight-themed activities in May, guiding travelers to admire the forest illuminated by countless firefly lights as if stars have descended, and helping everyone relive childhood memories.

Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area boasts abundant and clean water resources, diverse and intact forest vegetation, and an average annual temperature of around 19°C, making it highly suitable for the growth and reproduction of fireflies. From April to May each year, the dark forests sparkle with the glow of fireflies, mainly including black-winged fireflies, red-chested black-winged fireflies, giant fireflies, and big-end black fireflies... Among them, black-winged fireflies are the most numerous. Those wishing to see the fireflies should plan their visit accordingly.

The Aowanda Nature Education Center will hold four two-day, one-night in-depth ecological tours for firefly watching on May 7–8, 9–10, 14–15, and 16–17. During the day, visitors can immerse themselves in nature and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and forests, while at night, the shining stars—the fireflies—take the stage, allowing every tourist to experience this wonderful nighttime world.
