The four-day Qingming holiday for children is just around the corner. Want to go out for a spring outing without traffic jams or crowds? The large heart-shaped flower sea at Guting Riverside Park is currently in full bloom, and the flowering period lasts until mid-April. Why not bring your family to enjoy the flower sea together?

Following the bike path toward Guting Riverside Park, a vast carpet of flowers comes into view, appearing even more vibrant under the sunlight. The flower sea at Guting Riverside Park is themed “Happiness Melody,” using warm-toned flowers in red, pink, yellow, orange, and purplish-red to convey the warmth that happiness brings. The heart-shaped flower sea is created with scarlet sage, petunias, cosmos, and Salvia farinacea, spreading outward on lush green lawns, symbolizing the close bonds of kinship, friendship, and love between people. In addition to the flower sea, many steel-structured art installations also catch the eye—large picture frames and the word “LOVE” stand in the flower beds, adding fun to photo opportunities. Other colorful and vivid installations such as a red heart-shaped archway, white Roman-column pavilions, European-style white bell towers, and blue-and-white Aegean windmills are all popular photo spots in the park.

Guting Riverside Park can be reached by heading toward Siyuan Street from exit 4 of Taipei Metro Guting Station; those who want to ride bikes can rent them at the Jingfu Rental Station. There are “balance bikes” available for preschool children, while younger kids can share a tandem bike with their parents. Guting Riverside Park is close to the Hakka Theme Park and the Taipei Water Park, and you can also visit the nearby Treasure Hill International Art Village.
