Cherry Blossoms Make Way for Azaleas, Wisteria & Floss Silk Trees in a Riot of Color

As spring warms the air, days of heavy rain have sent cherry blossoms fluttering to the ground. But there’s no need to be sad—taking over from the cherry blossoms, azaleas, wisteria, and floss silk trees are blooming vibrantly across New Taipei City, showcasing the area’s full beauty. The cherry blossom season is entering its final phase, with only a few late-blooming “Yoshino cherry” trees still in flower, such as those along the Sansei Trail in Sanchi District and the Left Bank of the River of Hope in Tucheng District. Azaleas burst into bloom in a riot of vivid colors starting mid-March across various districts of New Taipei City. Many cherry blossom viewing spots have azaleas planted beneath the cherry trees, enhancing the scenery with an even stronger spring vibe. Areas like the Sansei Trail in Sanchi District and the River of Hope in Tucheng District feature both cherry blossoms and azaleas in full glory. Additionally, the densely blooming azaleas at sites such as the Erchong Floodway, Datong Mountain in Shulin District, Tamkang University campus, Chashan Trail in Shimen District, the entrance to Fagu Mountain in Jinshan District, and Ren’ai Park in Luzhou District are particularly eye-catching.
