In the Japanese animated film Spirited Away, the protagonist Chihiro passes through a mysterious tunnel and accidentally stumbles into the spirit world, eventually finding herself working at Granny Yubaba’s bathhouse and embarking on a series of adventures. But in real life, you don’t need to enter the spirit world—just head to Nanhua District in Tainan to stay in Granny Yubaba’s bathhouse for real.

Breeze Valley Homestay is located in Beiping Community, Nanhua District, Tainan. Just like how Chihiro’s family accidentally entered the world of gods, visitors must follow winding rural roads and road signs for some time to reach the homestay. Built using driftwood from Typhoon Morakot, along with cypress and camphor wood, this traditional Japanese-style structure features a unique design that looks not only like an inn from a wuxia movie, but also seems to have transported Granny Yubaba’s bathhouse straight into real life.

This uniquely designed three-story building is tucked away in the mountains, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Surrounded by lush greenery, the natural scenery—paired with garden landscaping and a stone-paved pond—creates a paradise-like environment that leaves every visitor in awe. In addition to its stunning green landscape, guests can also explore nearby attractions such as the Wushan Formosan Macaque Nature Reserve, Nanhua Reservoir, the Zengwen Reservoir Scenic Area, and Meileng.
