Recently, Taichung Mayor Lin Chia-lung officially announced the removal of BRT facilities, replacing them with optimized bus-only lanes. The Taichung City Government’s Transportation Bureau has introduced 9 trunk bus lines, including Routes 300–308, operating on these dedicated lanes. These services launched on July 8, with future service frequencies doubling to an average of one bus every two minutes. Travelers can now go directly from downtown areas to coastal routes without transfers, making commuting much more convenient.

Route 300 is the former BRT Blue Line. Following integration and planning, 9 trunk bus lines (Routes 301–308) have been launched. All of them serve stops along the Taichung Railway Station to Providence University corridor, including attractions such as the National Museum of Natural Science, Qiuhong Valley, and the Tunghai Arts District. Among them, Route 302 provides direct access to the airport, Routes 303–304 go directly to Qingshui, Route 305 passes through Qingshui and continues directly to Dajia, and Routes 306–308 go straight to Wujhi. Additionally, buses will stop at every station along the former BRT Blue Line section, but beyond that, passengers need to wave to flag down the bus. Six upcoming new stops (Yuanzi Intersection, Zhonghua Intersection, Ren’ai Hospital, Second Market, Chang Hwa Bank, and First Square Station) will also operate on a flag-down basis only.
