Tokyo Disneyland Launches Stitch-Themed Area: Painted Train Debuts First

With summer here, Tokyo Disneyland—the most popular destination for both kids and adults—is set to unveil the "Stitch Encounter" themed area inspired by Lilo & Stitch starting July 17. To let fans get an early taste of Stitch’s magic, Disney launched the Stitch Monorail Train on June 26 for an exclusive first experience.

Tokyo Disneyland recently announced plans to launch three new themed areas—2017—featuring Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and Alice in Wonderland in the coming year, generating much excitement and discussion among fans. Now, the Lilo & Stitch-themed area "Stitch Encounter" will open earlier during2015the summer break. Although details about the attractions remain under wraps, on6August26, Disney’s “Stitch Day,” the painted Stitch train will begin operating between downtown Tokyo and the Tokyo Disney Resort.

The Stitch-painted train isn’t just cute—it also changes with the seasons. From June 26 to August 31, it features a summer theme; from September 8 to November 1, an autumn theme; and from November 9 to December 25, a winter theme. Each design showcases different versions of Stitch and his friends, both inside and out. If you’re planning a trip to Disney during this period, be sure to hop on board for a unique ride.
