With summer vacation here and the Japanese yen depreciating, traveling to Japan has become a nationwide trend. Capitalizing on the booming Japan travel market, following China Airlines and TransAsia Airways launching direct flights from Tainan and Taichung to Osaka, low-cost carrier Tigerair has announced the addition of a new Kaohsiung–Osaka route, scheduled to launch on July 3, offering travelers even more options for visiting Japan.

Low-cost carrier Tigerair, after announcing the opening of Taipei–Okinawa and Taipei–Osaka routes on June 29, has once again announced the launch of daily flights from Taipei and Kaohsiung to Kansai International Airport in Osaka starting July 3. The Kaohsiung–Osaka route is not only Tigerair Taiwan’s third Japanese destination after Tokyo and Okinawa, but also its second departure point from Kaohsiung and its first Northeast Asian route in Southern Taiwan.

The “Kaohsiung–Osaka” route will operate one flight daily starting July 3. The outbound flight (IT284) departs from Kaohsiung International Airport at 16:05, while the return flight (IT285) leaves Kansai International Airport at 11:15. With Tigerair joining the Southern Taiwan lineup, there are now two low-cost carriers—Peach Aviation and Tigerair—offering direct flights from Kaohsiung to Osaka. In Taipei, travelers can choose among Peach Aviation, Jetstar, and Tigerair.
