Since 2012, the "Doraemon Train" on the Echigo Tokimeki Railway in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, has been very popular, with ridership surpassing 400,000 passengers. To allow more fans to ride it in person, the official decision has been made to extend the operation period of the "Doraemon Train" for another three years, until 2018. Fans can plan their trips to ride this adorable Doraemon-themed train during that time.

 The Doraemon Train runs on the Echigo Tokimeki Railway, connecting Takaoka and Shinminato cities in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. The entire train is decorated primarily in Doraemon’s signature blue color. In addition to characters such as Doraemon, Nobita, and Shizuka welcoming passengers aboard, the train is also covered with props commonly seen in the animated series—items such as the anywhere door and the bamboo-copter can be spotted throughout the carriages, making for a highly entertaining experience.
