Chibi Maruko-chan Transforms into a Gachapon Cup Figure！ Limited Release at Japanese Department Stores

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Chibi Maruko-chan anime, a series of commemorative events have been launched. In addition to the Maruko-themed restaurant in Odaiba and the Maruko train in Shizuoka, starting October 8th, major Japanese department stores are releasing Chibi Maruko-chan gachapon cup figures, featuring three different styles of Maruko and one of her grandfather, Friendzo.

The newly released Chibi Maruko-chan gachapon cup figures are priced at 300 yen each. Starting October 8th, fans can try their luck at gachapon machines in major Japanese department stores. All figures are limited edition, and if a store’s stock sells out, an announcement will be made on the official website. All proceeds from this release will be donated to support children in the Tohoku earthquake disaster areas, including those in Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima prefectures.
